evening with Joelle- expanding my horizon ;-)

The closer you live, the less you see each other: that's what happens to Joelle and me. Even though she studies in Fribourg and I (still!) live in Fribourg, we hardly get to see each other. But last night we finally managed to meet!

Thanks not only for a great evening, my friend, but also for expanding my horizon! ;-)
Joelle was kind enough to introduce me to a new term I had never heard before but caught my attendtion: a friend with benefits :-)

In case you are just as lost as I was, here comes what I found in Wikipedia:

"A casual relationship (sometimes referred to as friends with benefits, cut friend, a fling, or fuck buddies) is a term used to describe the physical and emotional relationship between two unmarried people who have a sexual relationship without necessarily demanding or expecting a more formal relationship as a goal.

A casual relationship may be part time, or for a limited time, and may be monogamous or otherwise, and the term encompasses strong enduring friendships between people who enjoy each others closeness but do not seek marriage for some reason, through to relationships purely entered into for sexual purposes. In each case, the relationship's dominance in the lives of those involved, is being voluntarily limited, and there is usually a sense that the relationship is intended to endure only so long as circumstances make possible and both parties wish it to.

Motives for casual relationships vary, and should be distinguished from casual sex in which no relationship is intended. Many casual relationships also include mutual support, affection and enjoyment, which underpin other forms of loving relationship. Some casual relationships eventually do become long-term relationships in the course of time; equally, others were never intended to."

The concept as such was not completely unkown to me, but isn't it interesting that we as a society already have a term for something like that? - Just made me think and opened up some questions. - Will that be the relationship form of the future? Where would this then lead to?

Done :-)

It's done, it's handed in: my masterpiece ;-)

Feels good to cross that one from my task list, now I can again focus on other things which I also procrastinated: filling in my tax statement for example or reply to some more urgent emails....- sorry guys if you have been waiting for answers...

But now I'm just going over to the MC office to say "see you later" to Bee and Dhruv, both of them are leaving tomorrow! :-(

19 hours left

I have still 19 hours left to finish my paper on "Job Rotation as HR delevelopment tool".

Wish me luck, as I yet need to write parts of the actual content, I still have to come up with my conclusion, format the whole thing, do the all the tables and stuff, proof read, and print and hand in.

Procrastination is definitely an art which I'm a master in...:-(

...I'm sure I will enjoy long night ahead of me:-)

ITC - difficult to put an experience into words

"I've learned that good-byes will always hurt, pictures will never replace having been there, memories good and bad will bring tears, and words can never replace feelings.”
Anonymous

I'm missing the words that I think would do justice to the experience I just went through at International Trainers Congress...

One week full of fun, laughter, tears, singing, sessions, personal development and personal discovery, intensive team experiences, nights and days full of excitement, evil roll colls, conversations over red wine, discussions, dreams, insights, faci meetings, my homegroup "Mokthalef", dead puppis, green goblins, "touch everywhere", Mimmis USB stick, closing plenary by the lake, "see you later"...

During this 6 days we painted the picture of the cathedral we are all going to build, and during which we made a lot of promises: to ourselves and others.

All this and much more comes together in one big memory, a memory that now almost seems like a dream. And still you now it happened for real because this memory will give me the strength to walk further, to stretch myself beyond what I thought would be possible. Thank you to each and everyone of you who contributed in making this week one of my best AIESEC memories I will carry with me - forever.
